A new way to display earrings

I decided to try an idea out for displaying my Swarovski crystal handcrafted earrings.

I think it works very well.  The cards stand up without problems and my business name is on it.  I will write the name of the crystals on the back of the card.

Price $40.00 Canadian plus shipping, handling and taxes.

Swarovski crystals, brown and clear.  Non-Allergic earwires

A special order

Hello everybody,

I have been so busy with my writing and getting it published, that I haven't been doing any jewellery work at all lately.

However, today I had a special order for a friend and made her these Swarovski crystals earrings with sterling silver earwires.

The design is unusual.  It has four  pink and crystal jewels on the bottom loop and two just below the ear wire.

I hope she likes them as they are fancier than she usually wears.  If not, then I will make her some others which are more plain.

Thanks for dropping by.

Bugs anybody?

I had this beautiful round stone with white marks on it and my creative mind went to work to see what I could make it into.  The name of the stone is Mossy Agate and it is a semi-precious stone.  It has a very interesting and different look to it.

I used black wire and also white wire, firepolish jet black beads as well as crystals.  The result is what looks like a bug to me.

I suspect everybody will look at it and see something different but this is the interesting part to see what others see in it.

Here it is.

I see a bug, what do you see?

It was really fun to see what this shaped into.  I thoroughly enjoyed the process.   $80.00 Canadian plus shipping and handling.

Thanks for reading my blog.

River stone wrapped in gold plated wire with jewels

This little stone could tell us a tale, I'll bet if he could talk.  I wonder what river he first came out of and how he ended up in Hamilton?

Is he a Canadian stone, born and bred in our cold climate or is he a stone born in the hot tropics?

I do not know.

Like most of us, we are just plain ordinary folk such as this little stone is an ordinary stone.  When we dress up and put on our best clothing and fix our hair, don't we look better?

Thus, here is our dressed up river stone which can be hung from a chain.  I love to make plain things beautiful and hope that I have succeeded in making this dear little stone even more lovely.

This creation now reminds me of a bulb planted in the ground with jewelled branches reaching up to the sky.

Here is the same creation attached to a gold plated chain.

Another good thing is that it is quite lightweight to wear even with the stone.

Who could ever guess that from a dear little rock could come such beauty?

$85.00 Canadian plus shipping and handling.

leather lanyard for keys

The other day I had a very frustrating experience trying to find my keys in the large, key devouring purse.  I poked, my fingers pulled at various items in the purse but alas, the more I tried, the more unsuccessful I became.

I determined that this would not happen to me again so I took some leather and made a lanyard with a hook and key ring and now I don't have any trouble whatsoever finding my eyes in my former key eating purse.....

For my own chain, I attached my cell phone holder as well as my keys and now never forget to bring my cell phone with me.

Can't find your keys in your large purse? A solution is available.

I spent what seemed like an eternity trying to find my elusive keys in my purse the other day.  There was nowhere to put my bag down except on the floor to dump the things out of my bag so I had to stand there rummaging in my bag.

Frustration is not a strong enough word for how I felt.  I was glad it was day light and not at night as it would have made me vulnerable if it had been night.

Finally, success!  I decided then and there to do something about this situation and came up with a very good one.

I made a leather rope with a thing to grasp the round circle to put the keys on.  I made it long enough that I could fit it over my head if I were just going down to get the mail or just running over to the mail box and didn't need to carry a purse.

I now use this every day and have not been frustrated since that time!

I will make a few of these for my party.  If you are interested, please e-mail me.  Sure makes my life easier!
They leather can come in several different colours and I will use some other jewels to make a variety for the party.

Thanks for reading my jewellery blog and have a great day!

Two new designs on this stormy day in March

I purchased some beautiful stones from a dealer and decided to make a wirework design for a change.   Good thing I bought them before the big storm hit here in Hamilton.  The wind is howling, I have a big pot of homemade navy beans cooking in the oven and my creative streak is going full force.  As I look outside, I see people battling against the wind, the snow covering their coats quickly and the snow plows in full force downtown.

I thought this lovely creamy yellow type of stone would bring on a spring-like feeling.  I decided to wrap it in heavy copper wire and it turned out very well.

I put it on a chocker length black cord as some people prefer shorter lengths in jewellery.

Copper wire work -  chocker length cord
Chain maille done by hand and Swarovski Topaz gem
Chain maille and topaz  Swarovski gemstone

Not as clear but a really close up look

I also worked on a mixed media piece, crocheted out of cording and I will most likely add some beautiful stones to it but haven't decided yet about that.

Synthetic blue stone with silver and amber coloured beads

This little creation measures 11" from top to bottom.  I have used silver coloured beads to complete the silver on the blue stone plus to add a little colour, I have added amber beads.

The blue bead is very pretty as well.

Price:  $50.00 Canadian plus shipping and handling.

Amethyst crystal bunny

I just fell in love with this little rabbit.  I can picture a lovely young lady wearing it.  It also would make a wonderful keepsake to pass on to her child in the future.

If it is for an adult, it would need a chain of 18" minimum.  It is so cute!

Picture your daughter or granddaughter wearing this!

If I were lucky enough to have a granddaughter, I would purchase this little bunny for her.  I have priced it extremely low so that it can be more affordable.

Making a plain stone prettier!

I had a plain stone which I thought might be prettier if I did some wirework on it.  I used copper wire and amber colour beads.  It has a wooden bead as well as a leather strap.

This creation has just been sold today (St. Paddy's Day) to a lady from Manitoba.  It is one of a kind so cannot be duplicated.  Sorry.

It was fun to figure out how to make this rather plain stone look classier!

Party Time coming up -April 10th, from 2-5 p.m.

Just a little note to let people know that I am hosting another jewellery party in our party room.

It should be fun.  Right now I am working on the party menu and the entertainment.  I will be sending out invitations via e-mail and for those who do not have e-mail, I shall be phoning them.

With Easter and Mother's Day coming up,  and the Spring-like weather (hopefully) in April, it is a good time to hold a party!

Enjoy your day, and thank you for dropping by.

Some beautiful creations using Swarovski beads and crystals

I really prefer working with Swarovski as they are so well made and so beautifully cut.  My second choice is working with Preciosa and Firepolish beads from Czechslovakia.  It gives me so much pleasure to create beauty using these different beads.

Here are two more creations for your consideration.

This delicate necklace is made with golden rings and mauve Swarovski beads.  It would look particularly nice in Spring.

What a lovely Easter gift that would make for someone special.

I particularly enjoy doing delicate, dainty designs

Leather crocheted cord with wooden beads or jewels

I love working with my hands and I decided to use some leather to add to my jewellery line.  There are some beautiful colours in leather.

I may make some bracelets as well.

Here is a sample of what I have done.

Leather, wooden beads  (bottom row)
Leather and metallic pink beads

Turtle like bead and leather work(top one)
Wooden beads and leather work

Leather work and some wirework as well.

Leather and beads (bottom)
Leather work and wirework with beads

Ceylon beads, wirework and whirl at end

It was fun to do these and they make nice necklaces to wear for casual occasions. I made one for myself in tourquoise and many people have commented on it.

Plated silver rondelles, Black Bohemian beads with tourquoise teardrop

I thought I would do something out of the ordinary with this necklace.  Usually one sees teardrops on a plain chain but I thought it might be fun to make something which would be different and I personally like the results. I hope you will too!

Rose quartz stone, handwrapped in copper and silver plate wire

For those who prefer a chunky look, this creation would suit them.  I love the soft look of the rose quart stone and the silver and copper wire enhances it.

Hope you enjoy seeing it.

Finished another design this afternoon

Jewellery making is time consuming and needs good eye, hand co-ordination.  I enjoy it very much but find it a little hard on the eyes, especially since I love working with smaller, more petite beads.

The style today is more large chunky jewellery but that will not last forever and I think it will go back to delicate and dainty things in the near future.

Here is the design I finished today.  Hope you like it.

Copper small rounds with Swarovski periodot crystal necklace

This exquisite, dainty necklace would look good against a black dress or top.  20" necklace with barrel clasp, dangle adds about an inch on top of that.

Also, on a green sweater or top as well.

Peridot crystals, copper beads with matching dangle

Pri
Against a green background which really bring out the green peridot crystals.

Price not determined yet.

Thanks for dropping by.  Come back again for new designs.

Amethyst stone, wirewrapped.

I felt very creative this afternoon as the snow is falling heavily outside and the snow banks are getting higher by the minute.

I decided to wrap some of my gorgeous stones and this is the result of this afternoon's work.  I will be turning it into a necklace made of  Swarovski amethyst and pearls perhaps tomorrow.

This lovely stone is wrapped with non-tarnish silver wire.  Its stem parts are with Swarovski Amethyst crystals

This is shown against a white background.

This is my protype and it is still a work in progress.  Tomorrow, if I am still snowed in, I will do the necklace part of it which will be with Amethyst and pearls from Swarovski.

I will post it once it is all finished.

THIS ITEM IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE - SOLD.  If you are interested, please contact me at wseville7@gmail.com      It will not be exactly the same but will be unique as this one was.

Something I made for me.

I took a new picture of it with my new camera.  I think perhaps it is more clear now.

Wirewrapped pendant with green seedbeads.  Necklace part is pearls and green seedbeads.

I wear this protype often as it goes with many different outfits.  It is not for sale.

I love this necklace but it took hours and hours to make.

Children's jewellery

I was asked to consider making children's jewellery a few months ago, and today my son came by and happened to mention that a young mother is having difficulty in finding good quality jewellery for her young daughter.

She does not like the gaudy stuff sold at the dollar store as she wants it to be kept as a keepsake later on.

That was confirmation for me to start a new children's line.

I will be selling some of my children's jewellery at Arts Hamilton, which is located near Wellington and King Street East in Hamilton, Ontario.  I also hope to have the time to make some for my jewellery party which I plan to have in the Spring.

Thanks for reading my blog. I love this idea.  As a former day care teacher, I always enjoyed working with children and marrying two loves together is ideal!  (Jewellery and children).

Have a great day!

If any of my readers is interested in children's jewellery, please feel free to drop me a line at wseville7@gmail.com
